Aug 30 New Moon Update
Next is Lavender Blue parts 8&9
I have also been working on my Arab Tent new start from HAED:
And here is Mustertuch von 1783:
I restarted my Berlin Work Sampler. I liked the fabric color of the first, but it was too soft and the stitches were slipping and fabric warping. I restarted it and am much happier with the stitching:
Happy Stitching!

Lavender Blue
I finally finished parts 8 & 9 of Lavender Blue. Unfortunately, I messed up the diagonal squares in the left border. I thought they were the same, but a couple of places overlapped. This makes that side about 8 stitches off. No way am I frogging all that since it is over one on 40 ct. I'll frog the top and make it like the bottom instead of tapering to a point.

Midnight Orchard and Napping Hat
The next finished goal is Midnight Orchard by Ian Daniels. This is a retired chart and very pretty. She is one over one on 25 ct lugana converted to HDF silks. The top row of pages are now finished.
I have four goals left and have already started working on QS Red Poppy.

Testing HDF's New 40 ct Canvas Lite
As soon as Vikki got the new 40 ct canvas lite in, I emailed her and begged for a yard in a nice lemon creme. She dyed it the next day, and I had it in my hands in no time!! It is quite beautiful and very substantial, but yellow is impossibe to photograph... anyway, I am going to try to put detailed photos here because photobucket decided to shrink out the detail...
The design is Funky Flowers- By the Bay Needleart. I am adding the "Stitch an Inch" bonus patterns to a border of my own creation. The first flower is Victoria.
I have stitched the upper left corner over one tent stitch. No slipping at all, even when going up or down to change directions. The slight line seen three lines down is stitcher error, not fabric. I decided to change the background color and stitched the new color right up to the old before frogging out the old-
The actual flower Victoria is stitched full cross over one. It is very smooth. No slubs!!
The border squares are over two. I used NPS black, and found it shredded a bit more than the HDF.

Pros (according to me)
No Slippage! NONE AT ALL! Stitches are even and not "knotty" like regular 40- can stitch the same way as over 2 without having to change direction on the horizontal thread to keep from slipping.
I did not have to throw any extra stitches here and there due to one slipping under, which means easier to frog- appreciated on 40!
This fabric is perfect for anyone wanting to stitch a HAED on 40- it is heavy enough to hold up to parked threads. I always use Monaco because it is stiff- my next HAED start will be on this fabric!!!
Threads are even- not one "slub" so far. None expected from a visual look at the whole yard.
The holes are easy to see.
When I stitch with the 36 dauphin and normal canvas, I always get a blister on my thumb on the hand under the canvas- none with this.
Easy to iron- extremely light mist and wrinkles were easily ironed away.
Can stitch in hand easily! I don't stitch in hand, but I didn't want to cut the fabric until I was sure I wanted to do it over one- I was easily able to stitch in hand over one with no problems due to the stiffness of the fabric.
Cons- the machine marks- one 1 inch linear mark and about three that covered 6-8 threads on my yard. Not a problem for me, but could be for others. Luckily, DV said these marks are not all through out the roll.
I am using black NPSilk ( an old hank from another project) I had to frog one of the black squares and it shredded a lot. I don't think TG Silk n Colors would make it on this fabric without using short strands. I am using it on the 36 dauphin and it shreds terribly.
My next HAED start will be over one on the new 40!

WIPocalypse May New Moon Update
I have had very sketchy internet connection right now, thanks to the squirrels. Every two or three years it starts going out until I finally can't get on at all. Then Charter comes and repairs where the squirrels have been chewing...now they charge $50 everytime a tech comes to your house, so I am trying to get by as long as possible!!
Anyway, here are my May updates.

Wipocalypse March New Moon Update
Wow, this past month as flown by! I have gotten a lot of stitching done, five of the projects I worked on were in my WIPocalypse goals...
Here is my HNA Sampler (13/20):
Here is the second part to my Ring in the New
A Tribute to Ackworth (3/20):
Lavender Blue (2/10)- I spent most of my time on this one because I kept frogging out different colors. I am finally happy with the colors I have, but will be tweaking the pattern a little with where I place them in the upcoming two parts.
Window (3/20)- I just discovered a mistake while stitching the next part, so I will be spending a LOT of time frogging this month!!

A Small Update
Playing catch up in the Sticklounge group- I am trying to catch up on Heart Note Alley, Window, and the Berlin Wool Sampler. I am focusing on HNA first, then Window, then Berlin. I will hopefully be current on all of them soon!

WIPocalypse February New Moon Update
Well, another month has passed and I have more WIPocalypse updates. First up is my January finish Purple Garden:
Then we have Metamorphosis-
Before:
After:
Part One of Ring in the New (a new start)
Also I have started Lavender Blue by Angie Designer. I have made mine in purples using Old Maid of the Vineyard, BeMused, Antique Rose, and the forth color is still undecided. I have tried at least six so far, but have more in the mail. I hope to get them in time to finish this part before the due date of Feb 25th.

Update on Metamorphosis
I have been working on Metamorphosis non-stop for the past week and have made some progress... this is also one of my WIPocalypse pieces. I have now moved on to the right top blue area. That will be difficult to keep up. I am working on my Lavender Blue SAL by Angie Designer now, so I thought I would post Meta.

WIPocalypse 2012 First Moon Update
This is my first update for the WIPocaalypse SAL. I started Mustertuch von 1783 on January 1st. I also restarted Froth & Bubble. I am in the process of frogging the part on the right and the actual restart is on the left. I plan to stitch F&B II just under the first, or I could line it beside this one. Decisions, decisions...

I finally have a computer!!
I am so excited. I finally broke down and bought another computer. I have had three Gateways and an HP. This time I went with a Dell laptop. Oh, the freedom. I love it. I can now start posting more regularly. It was so aggrevating to do by phone.
I have decided to join the WIPocalypse 2012 SAL on Measi's Musings. It is a neat idea to work on things you want to finish before the end of the world. Hopefully that won't happen, but it will be nice to drag out some old favorite WIPs that I want to finish. I am trying to keep the list at 10, but it is so hard!! The only thing you have to do to post progress photos during each new moon (she has the dates listed) in order to be a part of the SAL. There is a drawing at the end for some free stash, but I really think just getting to work on favorite WIPs is reward in itself!
The deadline to enter is January 15th, so if anyone else out there wants to join, it's really easy. Just post a comment on her blog and let her know your blog site. Easy-Peasy. I think we all have a few things we'd love to finish before the end of the world!
Today I have decided to restart Froth and Bubble. I love the fabric so much, that I have decided not to waste it. It is 45 ct Quarry Graziano by Sassy's Fabbys. Since Graziano is now no longer being made, I would like to conserve what I have. The design will be about 6 inches across (the fabric shrank to about 48-50 ct), and my fabric is 17 inches across. With using a two inch margin, I can still have 7 inches x 34 inches left. Perfect for some smalls. I plan to put Froth and Bubble II just underneathe to make one long sampler. This is what I have done so far (actually there's more, but it's too depressing to take another pic). This is also my chosen Daily Strand stitching for the year.
Well, off to start frogging...
